Description
Use small amounts of yarn scraps to crochet this self-buttoning bracelet. I used two color sample sets and less than half of one Lotus Snack ball (available as a kit).
A popular crochet stitch, the “V-stitch”, makes a slim column that you then edge with simple stitches in a contrasting color. It’s easy to fine-tune the size of the bracelet; you could easily make a head band or belt length with more yarn.
Crochet a button and loop clasp as you go, or sew on a button on later.
Skill Level
Easy/Intermediate. Skill level shifts closer to Easy if you sew on a button instead of crocheting one. Metal free (no experience with jewelry findings needed). UK and Australian equivalents for American measurements, yarn weights, and stitch terms are in brackets.
You’ll have the opportunity to learn these skills:
- How to crochet a single column of multicolored V-stitches with a contrasting border.
- How to create a colorful, quick, on-trend bracelet with a mix of simple crochet stitches.
- How to crochet a button and chain-loop clasp as you go.
- How to customize the fit, and create a headband or belt version instead.
Size: 1.12” (2.8 cm) wide and 7.25” (18.4 cm) long. Length is easily customized.
